How do we know whether we are walking in God’s will when we cannot see where the path is leading? Our conscience, the fruit of our relationship with God, and an honest examination of our motives can help guide us—but they do not give us a map of the future. Sometimes our expectations are wrong, our motives are mixed, or our choices grow out of broken places. Yet God can still use those things for good. When our understanding fails and there is nothing more we can do, faith means resting in both God’s goodness and His control.
